I use the picture making process in order to express my artistic interests. Composition, colour and space are very important. Subject matter is varied and limitless; the human form, however, dominates. The use of Colour and understanding of “light” are binding forces in my work. Working with hard woods to produce sculptural forms is a current involvement. Philosophically, I, like most alert human beings, rely on Nature to be the grounding, the source of most ideas. Interacting with human beings and objects in this matrix, generates a more dynamic reason to create and interpret ART. Recently I am allowing the medium ( whether oil, watercolour or wood) to dictate the expression that will eventually emerge in finished pieces of work.
At present I am invovled in a lot of drawing and I am finding great pleasure and satisfaction and some challenges in doing so.I think this process is actually aiding me to improve and grow as an artist.
